THE AUD-CHIVE

A page certain to contain more insufferable plays on their own name.

A known purveyor of (including but not limited to) tomfoolery, clowning, antics, buffoonery, nonsense, goofballing, and occasionally horseplay, many scholars consider it a wonder the authorities have not yet managed to contain Aud.

Despite this, our specimen appears to possess relatively “normal” (debatable) interests, including game shows, photography, “Peanuts” character Snoopy, writing, sociology, and Mary Oliver’s poetry. Major media outlets have been told they are interested in pursuing a career in journalism or information science, but as they are currently on the lam from the law, plans may have to AUD-just. (We told you it would happen again.)

In spite of these multiple legal issues, Aud seems to possess a keen interest in the extracurricular “Mock Trial”, as well as Shorewood High School’s newspaper “Ripples”.

Aud Jenkins – Shorewood Ripples <— Check out their articles, they’re really cool and awesome :-) (Completely unbiased btw) (We promise)

PRAISE FOR AUD

"Some look at the things you say and think you belong in a mental hospital, but I, for one, think you're actually just a genius"

"I want to study you"

"Aud, if you were an emoji, you'd be this one --> 😨"

"Subject 1 has breached containment"

"Your glasses lenses are thicker than the glass they jumped on in Squid Game"

PR-AUD-DUCTIONS (please laugh) FILED UNDER CLASS “VISUAL JOURNALISM”

SHOREWOOD SLIDESHOW

One of the first major assignments in VJ, the “Shorewood Slideshow” involves narration by the student over a collage of Shorewood locations and memorabilia — this project always seems to reveal a new and interesting perspective, despite covering such a small town. Aud’s video in particular covers coming out of one’s shell, shifting perspectives, and what it really means to be a community.

LYNDEN SCULPTURE GARDEN PROJECT

Loading into the vans on the day of the fabled Visual Journalism Lynden Scultpure Garden Field Trip (VJLSGFT for short), Aud and partner in crime Aiko Levick are equipped with (what they think are) adequately-charged cameras and functioning tripods. The duo finally arrives on site, just to realize that camera batteries drain REMARKABLY quick in the cold, and their other equipment isn’t too keen on cooperating, either. Left to their own devices (quite literally — the pair’s iPhones), they are forced to get creative. And they certainly do.

(This video is a particular favorite of Aud.)

FINAL CAPSTONE — “MEDIA”

Despite the constant learning curve that seems to come with Adobe programs (specifically with audio + layout errors here), there was a lot of thought and hours of work put into this final project by Aud and Aiko. Aud is particularly proud of the intro. While they may not have been able to implement every idea they wanted to (deadlines are… not a favorite), that could also be considered a lesson reaped from this project, and class overall.

!! REAL TALK FOR A MINUTE !!

I feel genuinely so privileged that I was able to take any class like this at all, but this one in particular — it feels like more of an experience. To anyone able to take this course — I truly can’t recommend it enough. Not only have I learned so much about communication across all sorts of media, I have learned so much about myself. There is a place for everyone to shine in this class, and it has given me genuine hope for, particularly, the future of us young people.

Sincerely, Aud
