Míša Herriges
Míša is an outstanding tennis player. She made varsity and also made it to state all as just a freshman. From what I’ve heard she is always hustling on the court and that’s what makes her almost an undefeatable player. The coach that helped her improve the most was Mr. Perez, a singles coach. He speaks very highly of Míša. Mr. Perez remarked, “She is a superstar and has great potential.” in the interview I conducted with him. Míša is a hard working tennis player and she is always striving to her best abilities.

Senior pursues two artistic passions: theater and photography
Zahni Gulbronson speaks about his twin passions
Zahni Gulbronson can be recognized for his work with the Shorewood Theatre Department, having recently performed the principal role of Androbus in Skin of Our Teeth. He finds theater fun, having started in middle school, but doesn’t plan to become an actor in the future. Instead he had a different interest that started flourishing towards the start of middle school; photography and film photography. While film projects are hard to take on during high school, he often uses the humble yet versatile phone camera and is a creator of abstract photography.

Mr. Perez shares his simple way of staying positive
Jesse Perez, one of the social studies teachers and new mock trial coach here at SHS talks about how much he loves Shorewood. “I think everyone is connected in a different way ,” he explains when asked about his favorite parts of our district. He also mentions this concept of connectedness when talking about teaching, and the importance of a friendly teacher-student relationship. “It’s a two way street,” he says. He also brings these ideals to mock trial, where it is his first year being the coach. When questioned about his feelings about the high expectations people have for him, he simply says “Pressure is a privilege.” Perez concludes the interview by sharing that in every aspect of his life and career, his biggest motivation is the people that he gets to interact with.

Isabella Busby: She Feels Her Best
I sat down with Isabella Busby, a junior at Shorewood High School and she talked about the Youth Rising Up club. She tells me how The Youth Rising Up has changed her in a way that she feels like she can be herself unapologetically. “I can be myself unapologetically without feeling like I’m being attacked or judged.” She discusses how she heard about the club and how that really reeled her into wanting to be more involved with it during her high school years. She proves that anyone can do what they set their mind to when they're in a comfortable environment because being in a comfortable environment can help others express their opinions and feelings on certain topics.

Delea Martins
Delea Martins is such an all around amazing person, she talked about her track/runner’s life and her decisions about college. I start with asking her what her biggest inspiration is, her older brother who runs track is her biggest inspiration and supporter. The brother/sister relationship pushed her to be better than him. She told me some of her PR (personal record) in the 400 and 200. She then explained to me how she feels after winning and maybe even losing a run saying that track is an independent sport and if she works hard enough and feels she did her best, no matter win or lose she is still a winner. She has recently committed to UNC, she is in love with the school and believes that this was the best decision for her and that 6 year old her would be so proud. Delea ends with saying to be the best you have to be determined, confident and to believe you are the best.

Morad Natasha
The topic was about how colonization affected the Arab world, basically my interviewee, Mo Natasha. Explained how there were two main countries who were responsible for colonizing most Arab countries, England and France. He also said that especially in palestine, we can see exactly how affects of colonization apply, since it is still colonized by israel, he explained how israeli forces kicked palestinian families outside their own house for no reason at all. “Imagine if I forced you out of your house and you can't do anything about it.
