Welcome! You have arrived at Betty’s Page!

For my senior year of high school I choose to join visual journalism to gain access to basic film making skills and resources (such as cameras). This is because I am planning to continue my education as a film production major, and hope to work in the film industry later in my life.

What have I worked on this year?

What I worked on this year was educating myself on the basics of framing and how to use a camera, shooting portrait photography, how to write and create journalistic pieces, and conduct interviews.

SHS Bowling Club Documentary

Below is what Will Monda-Morawski and I worked on for our “Shorewood Documentary” Project. I came up with the idea to cover a club that was most unknown to most of Shorewood High School students. I have to credit him with the editing and a decent of the camera work that was done on this project. I helped conduct the interviews, record audio, and filmed B-Roll.

Shorewood Slideshow

This is a narrated slideshow which describes my complicated relationship with Shorewood Milwaukee through the framing device of a breakup letter. This was before we were allowed to use our cameras to film videos.

Audio Profile and Portrait of Zahni Gulbronson

This was an early project in which the Visual Journalism class was tasked with creating a personal profile of a fellow SHS student or a SHS staff member. The audio is echoy due to a non-ideal recording environment, the Arts-and-Sciences building.
